Hello friends I’m very excited to announce that we have been accepted into the NewsMatch Program! From November 1 until December 31, NewsMatch will match individual donations up to $1,000 for a total cap of $10,000.
But it gets better! We’ve also got another $10,000 challenge grant from the incredibly generous Jean Welch-Hill!
That means that with your support we can earn up to $30,000!
NewsMatch is also generously matching new monthly donations 12 times immediately. So if you become a new $10 a month donor then NewsMatch will automatically match that with $120.
To our supporters we can’t thank you enough. Many of you recognize how unique and impactful the stories are that we bring to the community. And many of our oldest supporters are probably also aware how we’ve always been a lean and mean operation that has been funded at the gritty grass-roots level from day one. You keep us going and if you are able to support us now, your dollar will go further than it ever has before.

This year we are offering the following gifts for our NewsMatch donors
For a new monthly donation of $2 or more you’ll get our “A Free Nation Depends on a Free Press” button! We’ll also include a copy of our handy-one sheet guide on “How to investigate my state lawmaker.”

For a new $5 monthly donation or a one-time $25 donation you’ll get our “I Support Watchdog Journalism” bumpersticker, button and the guide on “How to investigate my state lawmaker.”

For a new $15 monthly donation or a one-time donation of $200 or more you’ll have your name printed in a publication we’re developing for 2022 called The Utah Reporters’ Almanac. This publication will be distributed to all newsrooms in the state and include articles on court decisions affecting public records access, investigative tips and more. Donors will also receive a printed copy along with the bumpersticker, button and guide on “How to investigate my state lawmaker.”
The stakes are high. Strengthen journalism, strengthen democracy. Donate now.
